Welcome

Many of you may be asking yourself, “What exactly is fracking?” Trust me when I tell you that this response is not uncommon, and is exactly the reason Gail and I decided to start this program. So let’s jump right into introductions…

Reinforcing Education on Fracking, or REF, is a program developed by Registered Environmental Health Specialist Gail J. Brunner, and Montclair State University Graduate Student, Anita Touloughian. Collectively, we have made it our mission to expand our communities knowledge on the potential impacts of public and environmental health in regards to the topic of fracking, through promotion and education. Currently our Spring Roadshow includes various Boards of Health, Environmental Commissions, the NJEHA Annual Conference & Exhibition, College and High School Level Classes, and any other interested parties.

Our goal is to answer the, “What exactly is fracking?” question. Since this is a topic that could directly effect the health of everyone in the community, we hope that through our presentation and our social media pages we can spread the wealth of knowledge and answer any questions.

Now I realize I did not exactly answer the question, but please stick around for my next post and let me enlighten you on this topic of fracking.
